Senior Constable Geoffrey Richardson (known as Richo) was a dedicated highway patrol officer who tragically died in the line of duty during a NSW police pursuit earlier this year. He was a loving husband and father to two young boys. His wife Margie, not only lost the man she adored but also faced an uncertain future with her two sons, one of whom suffers from autism.
An army of big-hearted volunteers stepped in to help Richo’s family, including Greencap’s NSW office, and a four month renovation project on the Richardson’s home, was completed it in just five days.
Upon the unveiling of the renovated home, Margie’s reaction of joy, shock and tears was incredibly moving.
“Our lives changed terribly 7 ½ months ago and I didn’t think I would ever feel better or right. I can’t express enough how much it means to the boys and I. It’s just amazing. You’ve made our dreams come true. I’ll never be able to thank you all enough. Thankyou”.
Greencap is proud to be one of the large team of companies, tradespeople and their suppliers to have helped made this happen. Rosalie Mayo-Ramsay, Principal Property Risk Consultant (NSW) and the Sydney Lab Team undertook a small hazardous materials survey for the project. Our involvement was arranged through one of our clients.
Watch it here on A Current Affair until 14 Nov, truly an uplifting story.
