As professional services provider, and an employer of scientists and engineers, Greencap places value and importance in education. We believe that being able to read and write is the key to accessing education and employment, and to participating to one’s potential in society.
The Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) is dedicated to raising language, literacy and numeracy standards in Australia, and raises funds to develop, implement and sustain innovative projects for individuals, families and communities.
The ALNF helps Australia’s most marginalised communities gain literacy skills, including disadvantaged, Indigenous, refugee and migrant communities. Running until the end of September, the ALNF’s “Wall of Hands” appeal specifically supports Indigenous literacy programs in an effort to close the literacy gap.
Greencap staff recently participated in a well-being and fundraising initiative to support the Wall of Hands appeal. Together we raised over $3,000 through individual donations and a contribution from Greencap for each staff team who committed to walking 10,000 steps per day for 10 weeks.
