The world-leading research organisation Mining3 was faced with the challenge of maintaining their high level of safety culture whilst also minimising their research costs. They required additional resources to maintain their externally certified WHS Management System and to provide WHS support to their project research engineers and academics.
Mining3 worked with Greencap to receive:
- workplace health and safety guidance,
- risk management strategies,
- assistance in incident investigations,
- internal audit conduction,
- reports, and
- advice on required training
In approaching this, Greencap worked with the in-house WHS Coordinator to conduct project and system audits. These audits led into a series of continuing improvements of Mining3’s on-site services in risk management, emergency planning, staff mentoring, investigations and reporting. Additionally, the WHS Management System was recently re-developed by Greencap to ensure re-certification to AS4801, and integrated plans for the adoption of the new ISO 45001.
The results of Mining3 and Greencap’s collaboration have been extremely positive; having maintained Mining3’s zero reported lost time injury record, upheld their AS4801 certification, continued to improve their safety management systems, and further developed their safety culture.
The ongoing efforts to maintain and develop these WHS initiatives will feed into Mining3’s delivery of valuable industry outcomes; continuing to develop and deliver transformational technology to improve productivity, sustainability, and safety.
