From April 4th 2018, removing asbestos without a licence is
against the law.
- Previously, individuals have needed a Certificate of Competence (CoC) to supervise asbestos removal. From April 2018, they will require a Supervisor Licence
- As of April 2018, those wanting to remove either friable or non-friable asbestos require a licence.
- In order to apply for a licence, individuals require NZQA Unit Standards training
